Signs of the information age

I'm not quite sure where we crossed the divide.

I think for me it was the point where I switched from a Daytimer to a Palm. Up to that point I was still focused on a physical thing. But now, I'm less concerned with an object and more concerned with information.

The computer can go down, but I NEED my data backup.

It seems a little I know, but I am not concerned about my computers as long as I can get to my data.

It didn't used to be that way. There were books. There were photos. There was music. Each could be reproduced, yes, but each was very much physically present.

No more.

Now it is data.

Electron streams.

Ideas flowing.

Is it a good thing?
