Backyard nuke plant

In this day of power shortages and wacky carbon credit laws, someone came up with a decent solution

OK, I know that the plant described in this article is way too big for a single household, but it's a good step in the right direction.

Nuclear power plants smaller than a garden shed and able to power 20,000 homes will be on sale within five years, say scientists at Los Alamos, the US government laboratory which developed the first atomic bomb.

The miniature reactors will be factory-sealed, contain no weapons-grade material, have no moving parts and will be nearly impossible to steal because they will be encased in concrete and buried underground.

I want to know how much it can be scaled down. If it can go to single household size, it will take a huge step towards a decentralized power grid.

And of course, I want one that size.
